The women’s soccer game on Oct. 15 against Skyline College was a defeat for the De Anza College Dons. The game began intensely with both teams on the hunt for goals. Skyline had a very tight defense, which made it difficult for De Anza to score.
During the middle of the first-half, Skyline was awarded a free kick, allowing them to score.
“That’s ok guys … let’s go, we’re trying to get back,” encouraged De Anza fans.
De Anza did not give up and kept strong defense despite the first goal against them.
Skyline’s aggressive strikers and attacking midfielders scored another goal before the end of the first-half.
De Anza managed to score a penalty kick making the end score for the first half 2-1.
The second half was not easy for either team, De Anza played until the end, but it was just not their day. During the last couple of minutes, the game intensified, but De Anza kept missing goals and passing either over the goal or next to it, allowing Skyline to solidify their standing.
