Student representation is needed on a committee that oversees the $490.8 million Measure C bond for the Foothill-De Anza Community College District.
Five new members will join the seven-person committee at the start of the 2014 calendar year.
“It is required to have a student on the oversight committee,” said Charles Allen, executive director of facilities and operations.
Applications must be sent to [email protected] or mailed to the FHDA chancellor’s office by 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.
The application must include a cover letter explaining qualifications and a resume with the applicant’s home address, according to the FHDA website.
The student must be involved in student government or another community college support group and must live within the boundaries of the community college district.
The student representative would serve at least one two-year term and would have the option of serving a second term.
The committee will assure that the voter approved money will be spent to the voters’ satisfaction, according to Kevin McElroy, vice chancellor of business services for the district.
The committee will meet quarterly to review information regarding current projects and tour construction sites.
