The DASB Senate discussed the cutting of 22 positions at De Anza College during the senate meeting on Oct. 17.
The cuts are being proposed by the Instructional Planning and Budget Team.
If Prop 38 passes, that number will double as the budget becomes even tighter, as the Prop only supports up to high school education.
But even if Prop 30 passes, several departments might still face cuts.
Departments being suggested for cutting include Italian, Arabic, athletic teams, Urdu, Hindi, Russian, Cantonese and theater.
A list of 50 least-required classes at De Anza was compiled by the IPBT. The list may be reformed if many oppose the cuts.
Counseling hours will also be cut in half because of a tight budget for faculty payrolls.
The DASB budget, also discussed during the meeting, is not a secret, as the public may drop in any time to listen to senate meetings every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
The senate is held responsible for a portion of the DASB budget ranging from extra class funds for seeds in environmental studies to campus credit card processing fees.
Most of the DASB income is self-generated by flea markets, recycling, and student ID card sales.
