It’s time for De Anza College studentsto get in touch with their artistic side.A new art exhibit titled “Material Culture”debuted at the De Anza College EuphratMuseum of Art last Wednesday.
Six artists from different culturalbackgrounds are featured in the exhibit,which focuses on materialistic culturein terms of tradition, association, historyand how it affects who we are today.Executive director Janet Rindfleischsays that students will have much to lookforward to.
“It’s just spectacular art,” said Rindfleisch.”You’d want to see this for thesame reason you’d see a movie thatwould touch you.”
The exhibit, which remains open untilApril 20, will focus mainly on textileswhile exposing the many different layersof our multicultural society.
The Euphrat museum is located eastof the Flint Center in A-29. “MaterialCulture” is free, and will be open Mondaysthrough Thursdays from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m., but is closed during springbreak.
