On Sunday April 16, people from all around the Bay Area joined together to take part in this year’s March for Parks, a walk that stretched 5 miles in San Francisco from Fort Mason’s Great Meadow, across the new Crissy field promenade, and then across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Proceeds from the event are used to benefit the Golden Gate National Parks. Approximately 4,000 walkers participated, even after a rainy forecast for the morning. A bit of rain did fall, and the wind was chilly, but that didn’t stop thousands from walking together to help support their local natural resources.
