“Godzilla” destroys box office
May 25, 2014
When I first heard about the Godzilla reboot, I thought it was going to be another shoddy remake of a film that has already been made ages ago with an entire franchise backing it up.
When I went to go see the film I have to admit, I was taken aback.
The film stars “Breaking Bad“ Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody who is the father of Ford Brody, a soldier in the film played by “Kick-ass” Aaron Johnson.
The film also stars the legendary actor Ken Wantanbe as Dr. Serizawa who tries to figure out Godzilla’s true purposes by studying the creatures in the film.
It’s certainly a great action film, like in the classic “Godzilla” they build up to the major reveal of the titular monster at the end.
Which is all worth the wait as the special effects have certainly improved since the first film “Kaiju” released in 1954.
It’s definitely not a man in a rubber monster suit anymore. The special effects were literally, through the roof once you get to see some crazy monster fighting.
Godzilla has transformed into a monster you don’t think about when hearing his name.
The film runs about two hours long, and you will get your money’s worth.
Godzilla is a typical action flick, male main character has a loving family, and must help his father but gets tangled up into something that he never believed would happen.
The storyline was written in a way where you knew something major was about to pop.
The movie focused on the humans in the film, not just havoc and destruction upon the states of Nevada, California and Hawai’i, along with major destruction in Japan.
You feel like it was more than just Godzilla and magic and monsters destroying the world.
Overall I would give Godzilla a 7 out of 10.
Amazing effects and good acting by the cast, including actresses Juliette Binoche as Sandra Brody, Elizabeth Olsen as Elle Brody and Sally Hawkins as Dr. Vivienne Graham.
You get to see some major monster action, although there definitely could’ve been more.
