Basketball: Golden State Warriors beat the number 1-seeded Dallas Mavericks 4 games to 2 to move on to the second round in the NBA Playoffs. With the number 8 seed upsetting the number 1 seed the Warriors moved on to face the Utah Jazz starting on there home court where they lost the first game 112 – 116 forcing the Jazz to work extra hard for a home win. In game 2 the Warriors started the first quarter strong leading 31 to 28 and ended the game struggling 117 – 127 in a overtime loss. Sending them back home down 2 games for game 3.
Baseball: Winning 2 and losing 2 at home to Philadelphia the San Francisco Giants continue to fight thru the 1st half of the season. With Barry Bonds hitting Homer number 744 on Saturdays 9-4 win over the Phillies. On Monday the New York Mets came in to town and won 2 out of three. Even in a loss Bonds manages to entertain millions and hit home run number 745. On the road The Oakland A’s won 2 games out of 3 in Tampa Bay and are tied with Kansas City with 1 more game before they come back home to face Cleveland.
Hockey: The Sharks loosed three in a row to the Detroit Red Wings. In Monday’s game at Detroit San Jose Sharks were eliminated from the 2007 Playoffs falling 4-2 in the Western Conference Semifinal series.
NFL: In the NFL draft the Oakland Raiders selected LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell as the number 1 selection in the 2007 NFL Draft. Oakland also added receiver Mike Williams and quarterback Josh McCown, in a trade worked out with the Lions.
