Paramore packed the SAP Center with third show on their self-titled tour on Oct. 18, making great strides in their headlining tour.
The opening acts featured Hellogoodbye and Metric, playing songs off of their new albums, such as “Everything is Debatable” and “Synthetica.”
Hellogoodbye’s front man, Forrest Kline, had a case of the sniffles, but he still managed to put on a great performance. While their set consisted mostly of newer songs, they closed with their more memorable song, “Here In Your Arms.” Once the crowd recognized the song they burst into cheers.
Metric front woman Emily Haines came on stage ready to rock. The band played newer songs, accompanied with more recognizable songs such as “Breathing under Water” and “Help I’m Alive.”
Paramore opened with “Grow Up,” from their new selftitled album.
Hayley Williams, the energetic front woman, took complete control of the stage, owning every second and set the tone for the show.
Paramore took initiative to play much older tracks that were immediate crowd pleasers, like “Decode” from the Twilight soundtrack and “Pressure,” their first single from the album “All We Know is Falling.”
Williams gave a speech, thanking and encouraging those in the crowd before the band led into their powerful ballad, “Last Hope” from their newest album. Williams let the crowd take control as they sang along. The energy in the room was enough to give anyone chills.
It was apparent Paramore has grown up, as their opening song implies. After the loss of their two band members Josh and Zac Farro, it was feared the band would struggle to keep it together.
Two years later, Paramore is on their first headlining tour, and still producing great music. The show in San Jose proved they are off to a powerful start.
