As the fall quarter wraps up, De Anza students look back on the moments that shaped their quarter.
In the rush of midterms, club events and transfer applications, many students said they found themselves holding onto the moments that made this quarter special.
Michael Caronongan, 18, nursing major, shared the excitement he felt throughout the quarter.
“Everything was new and exciting to me as a college freshman,” Caronongan said.
Caronongan recalled the most memorable moment with his friends from one of his classes.
“The day when I went to a matcha place with my friends after class was amazing,” said Caronongan. “We got to know each other better outside of class.”
Cyrus Tse, 18, biology major, shared one of his fun memories from the Homecoming dance event on Oct. 24.
“It was really nice to take a photo with my friends at the photo booth,” Tse said. “The only things that remain at the end are photos.”
For some, such as Siyun Lee, 21, psychology major, this quarter was especially challenging compared to past quarters. Lee looked back on the hardships of the transfer application process.
“It was a very tough quarter since I had to balance academic work with the transfer applications,” Lee said. “The midterm was chaos.”
Lee said that through her experience with transfer applications, she learned that the process isn’t something that can be completed with minimal time or effort.
“I want to tell students who are preparing to transfer next year to start early and give themselves enough time so that they won’t feel rushed,” Lee said.
For some students, this quarter was the beginning of their journey at De Anza, while for others, it was a time to prepare for a new start.
“This year had a lot more good moments than bad ones,” Caronongan said. “I hope everybody can prepare well for the coming year.”
