Patrick Gallman, assistant coach, recognized the improvements that the team has made.
“We’ve gotten a little more athletic. We’d like to get better at size and strength,” Gallman said.
Gallman said the biggest reason for the team being so high-scoring is defense.
“Defense plays a big role. We have a good group of kids and a good group of players.” Gallman said.
Gallman said that there is still room for improvement for the team.
“The team could be more effective with our scoring. The volume of turnovers, that hurts,” Gallman said.
Coach Joseph Berticevich said experience plays a big factor in the team getting better and he is confident in the team this year.
“It’s going to be a fun season because we believe in this team,” Berticevich said.
There is strong leadership on the team, with players like Theo McDowell providing experience and mentorship to their teammates.

It’s fascinating to see the surge in scoring, driven largely by the confidence this team carries. With little need for recalibration, the focus now is on keeping that momentum going.
“The team needs to continue to be dedicated,” assistant coach Greg Uyeda said.
Uyeda said based on what the team has done so far, the future looks bright.
“The team could look to generate more offense,” Uyeda said.
More opportunities will open as the team puts greater effort into its offense, and the sky is the limit.
With strong jump shots, defensive rebounds and consistent assists, it will be interesting to see how much more explosive the team becomes on both ends of the floor next year.
