    De Anza combines LGBT awareness with a DREAM

    In order to celebrate AB540 awareness week, De Anza College’s IMASS and Gay Straight Alliance hosted DREAM A Rainbow on May 26. The workshop consisted of activities to provide awareness to not only undocumented students, but more importantly those who are struggling with their homosexuality as well.

    Students spoke about either being an ally, undocumented, gay or a combination of the three.

    “I think we should bring communities together and embrace our issues so we can find a solution together and talk it over and fight together,” film major Jose Armenta said.

    The plights of both undocumented and gay students are the same: neither choose to be either one.
