De Anza students serve frozen yogurt treats in Sunnyvale

With a dozen yogurt varieties and over 60 toppings, Tutti Frutti is definitely one frozen yogurt bar you don’t want to miss. Rashmi Jagada opened the Downtown Sunnyvale location of the internationally renowned yogurt franchise only two months ago and has already tasted success.

A software engineer for over 20 years, Jagada began to look for business options instead of commuting to Burlingame every day. The Sunnyvale native found his calling after completing months of market research and landing upon the Tutti Frutti franchise.

A bright spot amidst the pending construction in Sunnyvale’s historic downtown district, Tutti Frutti welcomes families and students with its fresh atmosphere, perfect for students looking for a Wi-Fi spot or couples looking for a light dessert after dinner downtown. The citrus-colored walls and comfortable bar stools are complemented by windows which overlook a historic avenue.

Jagada employs De Anza college students at his new Tutti Frutti location. David Hua, 20, found out that Tutti Frutti was hiring from flyers posted across campus about a month ago. The business major spread the word, and helped his friend Mabel Tran, 20, land a job there two weeks ago.

“It’s definitely not an easy job, but you get used to it,” said Hua, “[soon enough] all we have to do is tell customers where to fill their yogurt and, weigh their purchases, and clean up from time to time.”

Hua and Tran have also managed to spread the word to their peers, to come to visit the store for its delectable treats.
