    Music Department appeals to DASB

At last Wednesday’s DASB meeting, two of the senators, Geraldine Garcia and Bret Jensen did some research on the music department since the department asked the DASB for money.

The department asked for $4,000. But, on the table now is whether or not they will give the department $2,500 to transfer vinyl recordings onto CDs.

The money will specifically go to Music 7A classes and Introduction to Jazz styles. The DASB was about to vote on it, until Jensen said that it costs $30 per song to transfer from old vinyl recordings to CDs and that those who are making the CDs are his friends in the music department.

Once he said that, the senate decided not to vote yet on giving them money. Les Leonardo suggested that they have a representative from the music department explain more about the process and exactly where the money would be going. After that time, the DASB would vote on the issue.
