Israel Gutierrez has been with La Voz Weekly student newspaper at De Anza College for the past two quarters. First as an online editor and most recently as the production manager and design editor.

As the online editor, Gutierrez’s goals consisted of a complete redesign and update of La Voz Weekly’s online site, provide an engaging experience for online readers and find a unique solution to providing current staff members a way to exhibit and show their staff portfolios. By the end of the Fall 2010 quarter he had completed leading the transition and redesign of the online site lavozdeanza.com and continues dedicating his time and services to La Voz’s online site.

In the Winter 2011 quarter, Gutierrez’s duties and responsibilities concentrated in the production and design of the print edition of La Voz Weekly. He oversaw the production process to a small degree and was in charge of front-page design and layout for the majority of issues for that quarter.

Gutierrez hopes to continue being part of La Voz Weekly for the Spring 2010 quarter and this time concentrate his efforts to the production and development of La Voz Weekly.
