Trails to check out around De Anza: Rancho San Antonio

Christina Abouzeid

The Rancho San Antonio Open Space Reserve in Los Altos is a family-friendly park offering multiple level hiking trails and an animal farm, only three miles away from De Anza College.

The park has many access points with bathrooms and water fountains available at the entrances. There are various trails that range from completely flat to almost constant inclines, like the PG&E trail which is perfect for backpackers and a strenuous workout.

This reserve also has tennis courts, stretching areas and picnic areas which makes this park extremely popular. At the top of most of the trails, there are great views of Silicon Valley.

Despite the no dog policy and the large crowds of people, this park is definitely worthy of being a new favorite.

The park is located in the Los Altos hills bordering Cupertino and is easily accessible by bike, bus, car and even foot.

The Rancho San Antonio Open Space Reserve is located at 22500 Cristo Rey Dr. and is open year round from dawn to half an hour after sunset.
