De Anza’s Inter Club Council hosted a Cultural Day event on March 2, where students and staff wore their cultural outfits and performed in a red carpet fashion show.
Clubs such as the 4 Elements of Hip Hop set up tables and signs to share cultures and traditional clothing.
Many clubs had posters with information about what their clubs represent.
Mason Li, 20, philosophy major from the 4 Elements of Hip Hop club, wore an inflatable capybara costume. Li stood by the club stand while dancing to the music playing on its speaker.
The event provided free boba, onigiri and croissants. There were roughly 16 clubs set up with canopies to block the hot sun.
Most of the students’ traditional wear had colorful fabric and intricate embroidery. Some students showcased their clothing and accessories during a fashion show later in the event.
