“Mad Max: Fury Road” is a high-octane electrifying adrenaline rush of a film. Tom Hardy joins Charlize Theron in the post apocalyptic wasteland of future desolate Earth.

The world’s resources have fallen to the hands of dominant ruthless warlords and Mad Max (Hardy) joins Imperator Furiosa (Theron) in her plot to save captives from the controller of water, Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), after the protagonist is captured and imprisoned.

The flick is an action-packed thrill with as little CGI as possible. This makes the movie better, since it is about racing across the desert wilderness. Hardy portrays insanity brilliantly, and stays true to the original series of films shot in the ‘80s.

Theron provides a gritty, kick-ass female hero that shows no weakness. Like the original Mad Max series, “Mad Max: Fury Road” depicts bizarre mutations and oddities humans developed from a post-nuclear fallout, which provides comic relief and a
novelty factor.

The soundtrack paces the film and stimulates the audience by connecting to the sound effects in the film. The sound effects include revving of car engines, gunshots and a man with a flame spitting guitar strapped to a car with massive amps.
Director George Miller also provides a movie free of sexualization.

By keeping the movie clean in a dystopian setting, it provides the theme that sexism is abhorrent, and despite being beat out of the top film position by “Pitch Perfect 2”, it has a more sophisticated standard of morals.

The film receives a rating of 9/10.
