De Anza Student Government plans to finalize an appeal from a candidate who violated an elections code, a process that has postponed the election certification, at a special general senate meeting on Wednesday, March 18 in the Student Council Chambers.
La Voz asked what the candidates have to say regarding the postponement.

“Even though it’s quite a nerve racking period of time, I understand that from last year they have raised a higher concern for any violation of the code,” Chair of Finance candidate Nam Khanh Le, 18, business major, said. “(This delay was) a little bit of let down, as I’m sure everybody worked hard to campaign. Eventually we’ll get there (to the results).”

“I planned to treat my friends boba last Friday if I win,” said Yumin Chiang, 19, biological science major and candidate for Chair of Inter Club Council. “I’m nervous about the results.”
La Voz also asked students why they think the elections were postponed.
“There are too many results,” Beth Sanchez Fernandez, 18, administration of justice major, said. “Maybe they are trying to figure out the votes.”
While the administration committee has already tallied up the votes, with its agenda from Friday, March 6 outlining a potential election certification, it has not released those tallies and numbers to the public yet.
“I know the drama from last year,” Digambar Vinil Kumar Ramya, 20, mechanical engineering major, said. “I guess there might be some conflicts this year.”
Following last year’s election and the Elevate coalition’s campaign misconduct, this year’s administration committee banned coalitions, in addition to barring candidates from working together in any capacity.
Ny Haja Ranaivoarisoa, 21, business management major, attributed the delay to a “lack of professionalism.
The DASG senate’s Election Certification and Complaint Decision Appeal Meeting will first review the complaint filed against DASG President candidate Allissa Lo, then vote to certify the 2025-2026 executive officer election results.
