At the March 11 meeting of the De Anza Student Government Senate in the Student Council Chamber, senators debated whether to hear an appeal from presidential candidate Allissa Lo, who faces a penalty for distributing lollipops with her campaign flyers.

DASG President Jayven Huang asked senators to table the appeal for a later meeting, citing a recommendation from advisers Dennis Shannakian, Maritza Arreola, Amy Huang and Hyun Chu Yi-Baker.

Several senators said the advisers’ reasoning for postponement was unclear.

After more than 90 minutes of discussion, the senate did not hear the appeal.

This discussion also postponed the 2025-2026 DASG executive officer election results indefinitely.
