Linda Vista Park in Cupertino is a quick hike with an awe-inspiring view of the South Bay.a

Linda Vista’s only one and a half miles from De Anza College, and makes for a great after-class get away.

Linda Vista isn’t that difficult of a hike for those with some experience, but a few steep sections might throw off less experienced hikers.

After hiking up the steepest section to start the hike, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking view of the South Bay. You can see from South San Jose to Palo Alto, and on a clear day you can see as far out as San Francisco and Oakland.

The top of the trail has a sharp drop into a small valley that marks the end of the hike for most. Those willing to find a way down can explore the park more through a number of unofficial trails with great views past the main trail entrance and deeper into the wooded areas.

The park also includes a workout and stretching area, two playgrounds, bathrooms, water fountains, and a big grass field.

The most frequented trail begins above the playground at the base of the hill. Make sure to bring athletic shoes if you’re planning on hiking at Linda Vista.

Linda Vista Park is open from daylight hours until one hour after sunset. It’s located next to Monta Vista High School in Cupertino at 11000 Linda Vista Dr.
