With the season coming to an end, the De Anza College baseball team is looking to go out with a bang. Having only a few games left in the season, the Dons wanted to end with a showing. A triumphant win at home against City College of San Francisco did just that.

Both their offensive and defensive games were on point when game day came, resulting in a 14-1 victory. Starting off with a 2-0 lead at the bottom of the first inning, the Dons set the mood for the game garnering point after point. Right handed starting pitcher Ryan Gunther pitched a great game and helped the team take the lead with only one run and four hits.

“I can’t single anyone out …  everyone got hits, and put their own bit of effort in,” said outfielder Chad Brown.

The Dons were a whole different team out there. They have found their stride and will continue to ride it out through the season.

“This is our best game so far this year … hopefully we can carry it on to the end,” outfielder Victor Barron said.

Once the game ended, the parents of the team put together a barbecue. They set up an announcement system for during and after the game to make player at bat announcements and add music to the plays.
