    Rosenthal’s impeachment

Inter Club Council Chair of Programs Levi A. Rosenthal was shocked to hear about the request of his own impeachment to be put on the agenda on ICC’s Wednesday June 13 meeting.

During the Monday ICC agenda meeting a group of 10 club officials, five being ICC representatives, stormed into admin 119 prepared to present their reasons why Rosenthal’s impeachment should be put on as an informational item.

Nathan Mertz and San Lee spoke on behalf of the group recalling 11 accounts of Rosenthal’s neglect for his position starting on May 4 and ending on June 11.

The group mentioned the first account of Rosenthal’s neglect when he forgot to give three clubs ICC tents for De Anza’s monthly flee market.

Some of the other allegations include not showing up to appointments with clubs, lack of stronger participation in the Spring Carnival, and lack of involvement with the De Anza Associated Student Body/ Student Trustee election booths.

Rosenthal claimed only four of the 11 accusations are true and that he has apologized for each and every one of them.

“There is no argument that I did some of them but the rest are not true,” explained Rosenthal, “some of [the allegations] are irrelevant.” While the 10 clubs had hoped to see the impeachment of Rosenthal on this weeks agenda as an informational item a flaw was found in the documentation that was turned in. The Bill of Particular, which officially lists the charges of Rosenthal, was said to require more evidence, witnesses and specific times. Because the documentation lacked most of the requirements the informational item was unable to be put on the agenda. Lee and Mertz still plan to bring Rosenthal’s lack of doing his job to the ICC meeting as a public announcement without naming specific people or events. “He has not fulfilled the needs and responsibilities he’s suppose to do,” said Mertz, ICC Cheer and Dance representative. “Action must be taken.” Although any action that plans to be taken cannot be done until fall quarter of next school year, Rosenthal plans to organize his life to better accommodate every one. “I believe what [the clubs] are doing is right. I applaud them. However I hope I get a chance to reconcile what I’ve done,” said Rosenthal.
