    Two De Anza students die in auto accident

        Returning home from evening classes onMonday, Oct. 25, two De Anza College students lost their lives as aresult of a solo vehicle accident on the rural roads of theAlamaden hills.According to the California Highway Patrol accidentreport, driver 21-year-old John Teel and brother 19-year-old Andrewwere driving southbound on Old Almaden road at 10:45 p.m. when JohnTeel lost control of his 1989 Ford Ranger and ran off; the roadstriking a telephone pole and flipping. Teel’s vehiclecontinued out of control and hit a tree. John was pronounced deadon the scene. Public safety personnel transported Andrew Teel toSanta Clara Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead onarrival.The accident is under investigation but preliminaryindications, are that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. JohnTeel was at De Anza studying engineering while Andrew Teel wasworking on a certificate animation and film.
