    Butch’s Bonuses: Robert Haugh’s highlights and hayfever

    a look at the events of the Spring Sports season

    The Spring sports season has once again blessed us.

    Of course, those peskypollens are at their peak and hayfever is on the loom.

    This season brings an abundance of great action.

    The motorsports community has revved up and the engines are purring.

    De Anza offers a lot for the student sports nut to enjoy. Games and people you cannot miss and/or know:

    Softball: Thursday, March 28 vs. West Valley. The Lady Dons host the cross-city rival. The Vikings have knocked the Lady Dons out of the playoffs the last two years.

    Baseball: Thursday, April 11 vs. Canada. The Dons played spoiler last year when they defeated Canada in an 11-inning thriller and knocked them out of the playoffs.

    People to watch:

    Karin Milburn, softball. Returning pitcher was selected to the Coast Conference first team last year.

    Nick Cirigliano, men’s tennis. Sophomore veteran returns after advancing to state finals last year.

    Women’s tennis team. Strong 8-1 start and great singles and doubles performanced lean toward a possible Conference title.
