Where has the art of wrestling gone?
In recent months, wrestling promotions have not been utilizing the natural wrestling ability of their wrestlers. Instead of putting on excellent matches with great action and wide arsenals of moves, wrestling has been simply soap-opera drama.
WWF possesses the enormous pure talents of Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guererro, Perry Saturn, and others. These awesome wrestlers have been mocked by being involved in hilarious, outlandish, and ridiculous storylines.
Perhaps wrestling federations have forgotten about the rich heritage of wrestling. That is something to think about.
WCW has incredible talent hidden behind soap-opera stars Hulk Hogan, Lex Luger, Sid Vicious, and Sting.
Michael Modest, Christopher Daniels, and a host of other young superstars are ready for the big-time.
WCW had an awesome rank of young wrestlers that provided wrestling fans with an incredible style of wrestling. That wrestling style featured lots of high-flying spots, dazzling moves, and good technical work.
For a while, WCW utilized the Mexican Luchadores to entertain the audience. Rey Mesterio Jr., Psicosis, Juventud Guererra, and others showed the world what Lucha was all about.
Lucha has practically vanished from the ranks of WCW, with hardly any matches involving the crazy, high-flying athletes derived from Mexico.
Wrestling federations have become possessed with trying to topple the others federations’ storylines. Its depressing that, in order to watch true wrestling you have to rely on old videotapes of athletes in motion. Videotapes that feature the likes of Ray Stevens, Bruno Sammartino, and Bob Backlund.
When will the art of wrestling be brought back into the squared circle? When will professional wrestlers wrestle again?
