    Health Fair 2000 all week

Biological and Health Science Division hopes to inform the community about health issues and to give free screenings.

The Biological and Health Science Division at Foothill and De Anza are having Health Fair 2000 on Saturday, May 13, as well as demonstrations all this week.

These events will include free screenings and demonstrations free of charge. There will be a wide range of health services offered such as, diabetes testing, cholesterol test, and glucose checks, just to name a few. On Saturday, there will be over twenty-five agencies such as The American Lung Association, American Heart Association, and Blue Cross participating, and offering free services.

Having the Health Fair 2000 serves two purposes. One, the Biological and Health Science Division hopes to inform the community about their health and give free screenings to those who may be unaware of the possible risks they may have.

Secondly, the division hopes to attract students to the area of Biological and Health Science.

“The Health Field is booming, and there are many opportunities at De Anza and Foothill, as far as careers,” said Joanne Araki-Faulkner, part of the Nursing Faculty.

The festivities on Saturday will not only include free screenings and demonstrations, but it will also have performances, food, and dancing.

The division at De Anza and Foothill hopes to have this event annually. There is talk that next year the Health Fair will be at Foothill College.
