Music to Relax During Finals
December 3, 2015
Finals week is an incredibly stressful time for all college students. Papers, tests and research projects all simultaneously due can make you go mad.
However, there are some things you can do to minimize the internal chaos during this busy week. Listening to music can have a relaxing effect on our minds and bodies.
Slower genres such as classical and ambient music can act as a major stress reliever. Studies show that classical music calms your mind and body down even when you’re not paying attention to the music.
In order to lower your blood pressure it is essential to listen to classical and ambient. A study done by the University of San Diego showed that other genres don’t calm you down and have the opposite effect.
Here are some artists that we recommend you to listen to during finals week.
Classical:
Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts – Cowboy Bebop
Simon Trpceski — Debussy: Image
Trios Gymnopedies: No. 1 – Erik Satie
What a Friend – Philip Wesley
Ambient:

Eingya – Helios
The xx – XX
