De Anza Flea Market: Art, food, cheap finds
DK Design offers custom garden accents for sale made out of colorful flower themed plates and knick knacks.

With more than 800 vendors, De Anza Flea Market is a fabulous find. It is held at in parking lots A and B on the first Saturday of every month, including holidays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The flea market has a variety of items to offer, ranging from handcrafted gifts to household utensils.
On one side of the parking lot is a store adorned with gorgeous and unique three dimensional wheels and plates to decorate your garden, wall or patio.
DK Design is owned by two friends, Kelly Limbaugh and Debi Clift, from San Jose who met 10 years ago while working as respiratory therapists at a hospital in South San Jose.
“We sell environmental friendly and recycled lawn art. “We make drought-resistant flowers and sun catchers” Limbaugh said.
An assortment of Halloween themed pointy hats, skeleton headbands and wands decorated the stand of Head Cases. The owner, Christina Soliday from Morgan Hill, handmade these beautiful and delicate decorations herself, just in time for Halloween.
“This is my favorite store among all the others. I wasn’t planning on celebrating Halloween this year. But I think I might buy one for a costume” said Cheveon Tan, 21, a business major at De Anza College.
The afternoon sun reflects across the table of Kelly Paints More, making the bookmarks and key chain shiny. The owner, Kelly Wright from Fremont, makes and paints everything herself.
Malvina Tan, 18, a biology major at De Anza purchased a cute panda bookmark from Kelly Paints More and said that it was her favorite item she bought that day.
A few stores down is Kool Glasses, owned by Stacy Kimbel who sells funky glasses with tiny pinholes on the lenses and the image on the lenses can be customized to whatever you want. The most popular design according to Stacy is Marilyn Monroe.
Despite the hot weather, the flea market managed to attract crowds of locals. Jovana Manca from San Francisco said that it was not her first time here and that the food trucks are great.
Whether stopping by for a quick bite from the food trucks or looking for etsy-esque art pieces, the De Anza Flea Market has some terrific, and best of all cheap, finds.
