Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden and a community college professor, discusses leadership and community engagement with De Anza College students April 9.

Community college students are her heroes, she wrote on the White House blog after her visit.  “I am profoundly moved by their determination to learn and their quest to make a better life for themselves and their families.

That holds true for the inspiring students at De Anza College.” Brian Murphy, De Anza president, said Biden was particularly interested in finding out more about retention and transfer rates at De Anza. Biden teaches English at Northern Virginia Community College.
