App review: FaceQ

Itunes describes FaceQ as a fun and powerful avatar maker that, even if you don’t know how to draw, still guides you to easily create your own cartoon avatar.

FaceQ is an application where you can create a virtual version of not only yourself, but everybody you know. It is the perfect way to procrastinate on studying or avoid boredom while waiting for your next class to begin.

The app helps you to create your individual character with a cute anime-looking hero. You can choose hair style, clothes, hats and the shape of your eyes, nose and lips. This allows you to make an almost perfect portrait with funny accessories.

You start the app by choosing a character: a boy a girl or two players. Then you have a blank face on which you can add anything.

If you have ever wondered what you would look like with crazy hairstyles, here is your chance to try them on. The app also carries a huge variety of backgrounds, clothes and accessories to shake things up.

When you have created your character, you can save him or her to your camera roll and you can use it on any social media site. If you are feeling proud of your work, you have the option to share your masterpiece on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Another fun fact: You can dress your and your friends’ avatars in well-known costumes such as Sailor Moon, Naruto or Pokemon for a good laugh.

Did I mention that it is absolutely free? This app inspires creativity and art in a way that is hard in technology these days. I give it 5 stars.
